People Development
The Ring Career Track is our process we use to develop each employee to their fullest potential. The process is based on open communication between an employee and their manager and driven by a continuous cycle of setting goals and receiving feedback on your performance to meet those goals. Employee development is critical to the success of each individual and to the long term success of our company. The following are some key initiatives of people development:
- Objective setting is strategically aligned from the executive level down to the individual contributor
- Self and manager performance evaluations are conducted throughout the year
- Development plans are used for both personal and professional growth
- Success profiles are leadership competency based and provide for focused development
- Leadership skills training for managers and supervisors provides tools to enable success
- How-to guides for all Leadership Tools provide a common language and methodology to enable success
Health and Wellness
The goal for Ring is to create an awareness of healthy living and to encourage employees and their families to adapt and sustain a healthy lifestyle. Ring is committed to building employee dedication to a healthy lifestyle, reducing illnesses so that we have less attendance and better quality of life for each employee, all while reducing healthcare costs. The following are some key initiatives for health and wellness:
- Annual company paid physicals
- Smoking cessation programs
- Company paid Wellness Credit
- Corporate events including Active for Life Challenge, BlueCross BlueShield Walking Works, and community walks to support charitable organizations
- Local plant events including Special Olympics, Blood Drives, Breast Cancer Awareness Day, Community Wellness Day, and Health Fairs with screenings
- In conjunction with American Heart Association's Start! Walking Program, walking challenges between locations resulted in over 7300 miles walked in 2011
- Personal Health Coaches provided for employees and spouses
